We use an in-house database written in 4D v13 and use 4D's built-in-SMTP handling functions to send mail from within the program.

We have an issue where each client can send 2-3 emails without a problem, and then on the next attempt there is some kind of timeout.

4D sends a request to the server, the server responds, but this response is somehow lost because the client is still waiting and times out after 30 seconds.

I've turned on SMTP messaging in the debug log in KC and it looks like this:

[02/Oct/2012 11:11:31][2975682560] {smtps} Task 238 handler END

Clearly this problem is unique to 4D BUT I have this exact same deployment in 2 different locations and never get the issue in location A and get it on every client at location B. Both are running the same version of the application and the same version of KC (7.4.3).

Obviously I've posted on 4D forums too but wondered if anyone has seen anything like this before or can suggest how I can trace the issue beyond the debug log above?
