We're getting a ton of these in our Warning log:

[04/Oct/2012 15:30:16] Failed to send DNS query to server 255.255.255.255: (13) Permission denied
[04/Oct/2012 15:30:20] Failed to send DNS query to server 255.255.255.255: (13) Permission denied
[04/Oct/2012 15:36:44] Failed to send DNS query to server 255.255.255.255: (13) Permission denied
[04/Oct/2012 15:36:48] Failed to send DNS query to server 255.255.255.255: (13) Permission denied
[04/Oct/2012 15:36:55] Failed to send DNS query to server 255.255.255.255: (13) Permission denied
[04/Oct/2012 15:37:00] Failed to send DNS query to server 255.255.255.255: (13) Permission denied
[04/Oct/2012 15:37:12] Failed to send DNS query to server 255.255.255.255: (13) Permission denied
[04/Oct/2012 15:37:16] Failed to send DNS query to server 255.255.255.255: (13) Permission denied


Everything's working correctly otherwise. Any idea what might be causing it?

I would double check the DNS server settings on your Kerio server.

The DNS settings are fine. There is an IPv6 address set as the third DNS server though, maybe that's the cause?

What DNS entries do you have in place? Your ISP's name servers, internal DNS servers, or maybe from a third party like Google? Do they actually reply to queries from the mail server's IP?

DNS broadcasts usually means DNS settings aren't correct, just good looking. Both things are by definition "fine".

TorW, you were right, the IPv6 DNS server had stopped responding to queries. I removed it from the list and haven't seen the error since. Thank you!
