Do you know what's at the receiving end? A regular fax machine, faxmodem, or some fax to e-mail service?

Vladimir

Hello

It seems that your SIP provider doesn't support the T.38 protocol. An automatic fallback to G.711 will be out in Kerio Operator 2.1 beta 2. However, using other codecs than T.38 is not recommended and would probably lead to communication errors.

Could you please check with your provider whether they support T.38?

Best
Filip

I can't see T38 in the codecs list in "call routing" "SIP Interfaces".
Where do we enable the T38 codec?

thanks

Ok thanks, but I can see some problems in sending fax when pdf are big files with graphics and high definitions. If the pdf is a 30-40 Kbytes per page files, tx is ok. But if the Pdf is a graphical (color or gray scale) or scanned file there are problems.

Other fax software have a automatic file resizer (200dpi b/w) before sending. Is this what we miss?

Hi, Giampiero.

We have tested a quite big files (10MB >) without any problems
and Operator have automatic file resizer.

When you are sending fax, please, look into active Calls to column Codecs if there really is T.38.

You could also send me file which you have trouble with to jvitak< at >kerio.com.

Thank you in advance.

I can confirm, if the pdf is a coloured hd (not 200 dpi and 30-40 KB x page) the trasmission take up to 10-15 minutes and the destination quality is bad.

Dear, Giampiero.

Please verify, you really using T.38 when you send fax.

1) Send fax from Kerio Operator Client (It was MyPhone before).
2) Go to "Calls" in Administration - during the call.
3) Look into column "Codecs"

If you are experiencing call crashes or image corruption on receiving side,
it is probably because you aren't using T.38 which should avoid this issues.

It is expected that pictures will be transferred much longer than only page with text.

@Jakub, I try it too. With a pdf file around 450 Kb. but with 19 pages.
And it takes forever to send out. More then 11 minutes I cancel the TX.
It took too long. 8 pages transfer in 11 minutes.
