Evertime my ical goes to login to Kerio to get calendar items, my computer slows down, and I get this in the console logs. Any ideas on how to fix. I am able to get the calendar items, but this slows down my computer each time, frustrating.

This isn't an official support venue, file a ticket. BTW, I get those as well although not as many as I used to.

I'm seeing the exact same thing here on my 10.8.2 test Mac.
All the production users are on 10.6.8 and no issues with them.

Not going to roll out 10.8.2 if Kerio is a problem.

Did you get it figured out?

I think I've heard someone saying these are harmless, but I will find out what does it mean exactly and get back to you guys.

Update from my situation.
The problem Mac is one that has been upgraded from 10.6.8 to 10.8.2. Before that is was migrated from an older Mac running 10.5 then migrated before that from 10.4.8 then upgraded from 10.3.
So it very well may have some old crap that is interfering.

I did test another iMac with a clean install of 10.8.2. It appears to work OK, the message "CalendarAgent[196]: Calendaring data empty" in Console does show up, but only about 20-30 times in a split second, then nothing until the next iCal refresh.

The problem user has hundreds more per refresh. Not sure why. That appears to be the difference. I did a temporary fix and set their iCal refresh at 15 minutes (it was set to 1 minute, i usually set to 5) and then checked in with them 2 hours later. That did help.

Symptoms:
What made the user complain was that Word 2011 was freezing or was unresponsive and she would have to Force Quit it.
She also complained that after the 10.8.2 upgrade her iMac was slower in general. After checking online and verifying that 10.8 should be as fast as 10.6 and some areas even faster, I knew something was up.

Odd Things:
One of the first things I checked was Activity Monitor. If something is hogging CPU cycles or ram, it should show up. Nothing. Everything looked normal. Network activity was going on but was hard to tell if it was out of normal range. I had expected to see the CPU being maxed out.

So whatever iCal is doing in that burst of errors, it drags everything else to a halt somehow.

I am out of town for the next 3 days and will not be able to test more until Monday. Hope all this info helps.

It has been confirmed by the developer that this is just informational log entry, not necessary error log. We observe this message since CalDAV introduction in iCal, but it is not connected with any problem.

Well there IS a problem. CPU races to 200%, fans rev up, and the battery meter begins to drain. 10.8.2, Kerio 8.0.0 build 639.

Is there anyway to stop this "Informational" log entry into the system log? Or is there anyway to locate the event or whatever that has the empty information?

Hey folks.

I just found similar log entries on Mac OS X 10.8.3.

I found that the CalDav calendars on several different accounts had been configured with SSL enabled, and port 443 specified.

(Either in System Preferences -> Mail, Contacts & Calendars, or in iCal preferences directly).

Upon turning the SSL tick-box off, and removing the '443' (which then goes back to 'auto'), the "CalendarAgent: Calendar data empty" line items in the system log stopped appearing instantly.

Perhaps this could work for you?

Cheers,
D.

I just tried this and had no effect. They're still there on refreshing of the calendars.

We found that you may have to remove the calendars, reboot, and then re-add the CalDav calendars (without those extra settings).

Naturally though, one would most likely want SSL etc. enabled...

Cheers,
D.
