I've got a client with an Operator setup and they're wanting to see if we can repurpose a couple of Cisco iPhone wifi phones.
These units are not on the supported handsets list, so I'm wondering if there's any manual configuration that can be performed to get basic call functionality working with these handsets.

These units are a basic Cisco/Linksys wifi phone - model number WIP310 v2

All we need to be able to do is assign it an extension number and make/receive calls on it.

Hi,

If these are like the other Linksys phones, they should be easy to set up manually.

Navigate to administration - Ext 1 (or Ext 2) in Linksys and enter Operator's IP as the proxy address, the extension number as the display name. The SIP username from Operator's "Edit extension" dialog should be entered as both the 'Auth ID' and 'User ID' in Linksys. The "Edit extension" dialog will also show you the SIP password.

Thanks for the quick reply.
I think I've set everything correctly, but the phone tries to register briefly and then says Not Registered.

I've attached a screenshot with the settings from the web interface for Ext 1
./fa/2852/0/

The error I get in the security log is:
[04/Dec/2012 09:43:42] Asterisk: Authentication failed from host 10.20.30.112 (uri:"20" <sip:kai<_at_>10.20.30.20>). Attempts: 1.

I am using the SIP password from the extension in Operator. I have also tried the user's password and neither seem to work.

Does it all look correct?

Hi,

your "User ID" and "Auth ID" values are not correct. As Vladimir said, you have to use the "SIP username" w/ "SIP password". You can find both values in Kerio Operator in the Edit Extension dialogue.

./fa/2853/0/

Best
