Hi,

Our user accounts are in Open Directory, imported to Connect.

The user shortnames in Open Directory are firstlast, for example, johnsmith.

But user email addresses in Connect are first.last, for example john.smith<_at_>myco.com

Our users use Mac OSX Calendar app. When a user creates an event and types another user's name in the 'Invitees box', both the shortname and email address are offered for the user to select. So, the user creating the event is offered the following choices:

johnsmith<_at_>myco.com [shortname]
john.smith<_at_>myco.com [email address]

If the invitee accepts, the invitee's iCal replies using johnsmith<_at_>myco.com [shortname], which I think is causing a problem with accepted invites not showing up for the event creator.

Which should the user creating the event chose for the invitee email address? Does it matter? Should both work for replying to invites?

Is it best to always use johnsmith@myco.com [shortname] for inviting people to events instead of the invitee's email address, john.smith<_at_>myco.com [email address]?

Thanks,

ft.
