We are looking at the WS client and server here as a trial deployment and may be missing something obvious.

We have added folders from the shared spaces and can see those in the client just fine - that is really easy and a credit to the development team!

My question though is can you share a "Space" in its entirety rather than just the folders within it? That way if a new folder is added to the root level of the space it will automatically sync to the clients. A new folder added to the root level will be ignored unless the clients manually select to include the folder from the web interface.

No, because you are not subscribing to the space or page, but the file library component on the page. There can be numerous of file libraries on one page and thus it would not be possible.
