Hi there,

I already installed Kerio Connect a while ago in Debian and now I try doing it again - and I fail. I followed the KB-Article, the wizard showed up - but then it failed. If I try again, I get:

As soon as I try again, I get the following error:

(Reading database ... 19475 files and directories currently installed.)
Preparing to replace kerio-connect 7.3.1.6199.patch2-1 (using kerio-connect-7.3.1-6199-p2-linux.deb) ...
Stopping Kerio Connect: Engine .
Unpacking replacement kerio-connect ...
Setting up kerio-connect (7.3.1.6199.patch2-1) ...
insserv: script kerio-connect: service mail-transport-agent already provided!
insserv: exiting now!
update-rc.d: error: insserv rejected the script header
dpkg: error processing kerio-connect (--install):
subprocess installed post-installation script returned error exit status 1
Errors were encountered while processing:
kerio-connect

Any suggestions? I really don't know what to do...
Thanks!
Goofy

BTW: Postfix is uninstalled, so I really don't understand the error "service mail-transport-agent already provided!"

Check your Debian installation for other conficting MTA software, eg. exim4:

sudo apt-get remove exim4-base

Hello,

I have the exactly same problem with the kerio-connect-8.1.1-1374-linux-i386.deb version...

I already do the apt-get remove exim4-base command.

I realy don't know what i'm doing wrong.

Any suggestions? I really don't know what to do...

Thanks you

hi,

this thread is a little bit older, but i think the solution should be published to close this one.

the error-message says, that insserv has a problem with an provided mta:
"insserv: script kerio-connect: service mail-transport-agent already provided!"

so, you should check if there is an mta in the init-scripts (even if you removed the previous mailers from your system (exim or postfix or whatever).

grep -r mail-transport-agent /etc/init.d/

maybe you find a line like this one:
"/etc/init.d/postfix:# Provides: postfix mail-transport-agent"

rm /etc/init.d/postfix should do the trick.

bye,
gruetze
