How difficult would it be to get KO to work with the Call Record softkey on the snom 870 and 821 phones? The provisioning setting is described here:

http://wiki.snom.com/Settings/recording_mechanism

They have a HowTo here:
http://wiki.snom.com/Category:HowTo:Call_Recording

This would seem to me to be a much preferred way of recording phone calls as opposed to the "All or Nothing" option that we currently have.

Thoughts?

Hi

Although it may sound pretty simple at first, there is a lot to think through.

There would need to be a way for users to listen back to the recordings. This could be done through an IVR tree or a new grid in the Operator Client (previously known as MyPhone). Apart from that, we would need to deal with permissions, quotas, etc.

It is not in the plan for now, but feel free to use uservoice to suggest such feature.

Thanks
Filip

Thanks Filip, I've added the suggestion to UserVoice.

How would this be different than the standard Operator Client recording options? The Client already has the ability to play back recordings to the user, no?

Not sure what you exactly mean. Recorded calls are accessible only through Administration. If you thought about voice mails in the Operator Client, then yes, recorded calls could look similar to that.

Thanks for the suggestion.

Hmmm, I guess I need to look a little closer next time eh? I don't use the Client very often so I forgot what that tab was.

So then yes, that would require much more work. Here's hoping the request gets some feedback!

thanks!
