Can anyone say if the new Blackberry 10 phones will be compatible with Kerio Connect?

Blackberry 10 will support ActiveSync natively, so I guess it will be compatible to Kerio.

The enterprise version, though, will still need to got through the new BES10 server and it has to be seen if that will be supported by Kerio.

Hi,

I would suggest having a read of this blog article:

http://www.kerio.com/blog/open-standards-for-mobile-email-%E 2%80%93-and-kerios-thoughts-on-bes

As there are some changes to how we support BES and Blackberry phones coming.

Thanks,
Vicky

Old thread bad from the dead, pretty much like Blackberry so it seems.

We have a number of users who know their phone upgrades are coming and are showing interest in both the Blackberry Priv and Leap.
Priv is an Andriod based phone so there is no reason why this could not work? Or is there?
How about the Leap though? This uses Blackberry 10 OS.

The BB support page doesn't show any different in setting up to any other AS device (http:// support.blackberry.com/kb/articleDetail?articleNumber=000033 940) but there are forum entries of users (albeit with Z10) saying that attachments were not visible on the BB device and other niggles.

Has anyone used either of these phones sucessfully? I'm certainly not going down the route of Astrasync (sorry AstraSync!) life is too short to add third party apps and extra cost when ActiveSync works on every other phone.

I have tested both devices, the Priv (Android) and the Leap (Blackberry OS 10) and they work flawlessly via Active Sync.

Are you using BES 12?

Thanks for the response!
We were hoping to not have to use BES at all as we don't need the device management part of it.
My experince of it was many years ago with BES Express + Kerio 6 or 7 + NotifySync and it was a constant PITA.

Users started looking at iPhones which I found could be deployed with ActiveSync in about 5 minutes and then never came back because they just worked. Problems with intermittant Wi-Fi and being disconnected mid-conversation execpted.
Now they're bored with iPhones and seeing others with the Blackberry...sales people, very fickle!

That's perfect, they work both without BES via ActiveSync. No extra tools needed to work with Kerio Connect.

The BB10 devices can connect directly to the server via EAS (Exchange ActiveSync 12.x/14.x), the BES10/12 is not required.

But the BES12 (on-prem) has some nice features, e.g. it allows hiding of EAS from public internet, the devices go through the BES and it makes secure connection (tunnel) to the EAS server in your local network. With suitable configuration of Kerio Connect & BES12, you can control access of devices to your mailserver, force security features related to EAS, define what to sync, wipe only work data (not personal data on "BYOD")...

In Connect 8.5-9.1 are fixed many bugs related to BB10.
