Is there a way to remove the Feedback Botton in KC 8.0 WebMail Client?

We don't want our users to give feedback to Kerio directly. Some users even think that the feedback button is part of the mail and they can give feedback to the actual content of the mail.

Is there a general setting to remove the feedback button? It should also remove the feedback option in the context menu.

Thanks.

Hi,

I have found a way to remove the feedback button for all users. I have to warn you this is not a supported way to do this etc...

You will need to do the following:

1. Stop Kerio Connect
2. Navigate to the installation directory and go ...\web\webmail
3. Open webmail2.css in a plain text or HTML viewer
4. You will want to remove the following fields/variables in the css file:

.feedback {
position: fixed;
bottom: 0;
right: 18px;
z-index: 30000;
height: 37px;
width: 128px;
}
.feedback #feedbackCore {
position: relative;
top: 6px;

These lines start at 1450 lines from the top of the file.

5. Once the following code has been removed save the changes and start Kerio Connect

Then this will stop the feedback button from showing. I would advise that if an upgrade is performed after this change has been done that you check the css file again as the upgrade may replace the missing code.

I have tested this here on my machine locally and it seems to not show any problems but like I said at the beginning this is not supported so this may or may not cause issues.

Hope this helps,
Vicky

Vicky, thanks for this.

I just found that when I click the little X on the feedback button, it will never appear again for that user. So I looked in

settings.cfg

in the user's folder and found:

<variable name="hideFeedback" type="boolean">true</variable>

So if I set this on each user, the problem is solved and I don't have to mess around with the css file and get usupported.

Anyhow, your quick answer was much appreciated.
