With some of my email groups I need to limit who can send email to them. Looking into this, I believe the only way I can do this is by setting a mailing list. So my question then becomes these 4 parts:
Can I import an existing distribution group from AD into the mailing list or do I need to manually key in each email address?
And to make sure I am doing this right, under the posting tab, I would select to only allow moderators to post messages, correct?
Also, can I add moderators this the mailing list and have them not receive the emails? (Per-say, I want to email that mailing list to inform them of something but I do not want all of their emails.)
Finally, if I choose "hide senders address" box will that eliminate the "joe-owner@joe.com on behalf of Tim<_at_>joe.com" being the sending address?

I know it is a lot of questions but I want to make sure I am understanding what I am reading. And if anyone has a better suggestion on how to simply setup an email group linked to an AD distribution group and simply limit the people that can send and receive to the people that are in the AD distribution group, please let me know.

Thank you everyone.

Am I the first person that has needed to setup a restricted email group? I can't believe with over 230 views no one has a suggestion, solution, or even laughed at the question. Smile If I am asking a question that is spelled out somewhere else then tell me. I will do the research. So far I have what I think will work, I am just searching for confirmation.
