We are having a problem where if we specify the exact number in the "Call routing" all incoming calls are rejected with a message "You have dialled an incorrect number" and then the call is ended. If we change the incoming call to include a wild card on the end, calls work fine.

Is this normal behaviour or have we configured something wrong here?

I am unable to reproduce your issue. More to the point, I am unable to put wildcard (*) into the Web admin console of Kerio Operator (Error: The value in this field is invalid). Where exactly are you putting the wildcard into the console?

Kerio Technologies AU Pty Ltd.

"Configuration" > "Call Routing" then BRI port 1 & 2, in "External Numbers"

The wild card is x rather than *

So if we put in 0114222222x it will work, but if we put in the exact number, it wont.
