I recently embarked on another new API idea. Our main Control has at least 30 rules and 36 IP addresses. Each time we turn up a new server or have to make a new rule, we are constantly battling with the task of just trying to find an open IP and service.

Is there a way in the Control API to list all the rules? Would be looking for at least IP / service(s). All I need is the json call and I can handle the rest.

Thanks!

Hi Nick,

well, it is possible. Need to say that this is more complex operation as you need to pair some information. This is what Web Administration does.
{"jsonrpc":"2.0","id":1,"method":"Inspectors.get"}
{"jsonrpc":"2.0","id":1,"method":"TrafficPolicy.getDefaultRule"}
{"jsonrpc":"2.0","id":1,"method":"TimeRanges.getGroupList","params":{}}
{"jsonrpc":"2.0","id":1,"method":"TrafficPolicy.get","params":{}}

If you want, feel free to use Firebug/Developer tools and watch requests in Web Administration.
