Hi,
Has anyone managed to setup Sipgate Team. I have a setup sipgate.co.uk residential (1000)to evaluate and I also have a sipgate team account with three numbers. The residential account was up and running in seconds but the Team account has got me banging my head against the wall. I've done lots reading of how to's already and it seems sipgate team is similar to sipgate.com setup but I haven't had any luck. Has anyone set it up? The problem is it won't register at all. I get "Forbidden - wrong password on authentication for REGISTER". I know the password is correct so another setting somewhere is causing this.

Maybe the problem is not the password but the user or authentication ID. Try to find some configuration example for the service to see what ID they expect.

Thanks for replying. I found these on their help forum, in regards to setting up asterisk;



These are the settings for the basic configuration of asterisk for sipgate.

Note: Please replace your SIPID to SIP-ID and PASSWD to SIP-Password respectively.

Please enter the following in sip.conf:

register => SIP-ID:SIP-Password<_at_>sipgate.co.uk/SIP-ID
[sipgate]
type=peer
secret=PASSWORD
insecure=invite
username=SIP-ID
defaultuser=SIP-ID
fromuser=SIP-ID
context=sipgate_in
fromdomain=sipgate.co.uk
host=sipgate.co.uk
outboundproxy=proxy.live.sipgate.co.uk
qualify=yes
disallow=all
allow=alaw
dtmfmode=rfc2833[/color]

It looks like you need to use the option 'User ID differs from the telephone number'. Also you will need to set the outbound proxy to be different from the registrar server (The button 'Configure' next to the Hostname field in the interface edit dialog.)
