I have a customer that is trying to send messages to their salesforce email address. Its a very long email address, but still within the limits, but Kerio Connect 8 will not accept it. How can we get it to accept the email address.

I assume you are referring to the emailtosalesforce function. The only thing I can say is that this is working for me with KC 8 and also worked with any prior version.

Incorrect, they are trying to forward from an email account on the Kerio Connect server to an email address provided by Salesforce. It is very long and with a lot of random digits, but it does not violate any rules for proper email addresses, but when we try and paste it into the forward it is rejected by the server.

did they make sure the senders address is in the allowed recipients at salesforce?
I don't know any other sf email adress than emailtosalesforce (it is a long address with random digits).

Google for email to salesforce, my guess is a misconfig in your users sf account.

You certainly are not getting what the issue is.

Here is a sample of the email address that is provided by Salesforce, that is trying to be put in as a forward for an account that exists on the Kerio server.

inboundemailregistration<_at_> 0-uz20yw8ldlkin8pgfmcmsqdbzg3lr2430nk65b0wapy7s64q1.8-dxhyea u.8.apex.salesforce.com

When that is tried to be put in, Kerio Connect 8 rejects it. Though it looks strange, it does not violate any rules for an email address.

I see a couple of problems-you have 5 periods in the host name side (I can't recall ever seeing more than 3) and there's a space in there as well.

Have you tried a DNS lookup on the host name? Also there are tools out there to test the validity of an email address-I'd suggest trying one of those tools.

To do a DNS lookup, try http://www.dnsqueries.com/en/. To test the email address, try either http://verify-email.org or http://mailtester.com/testmail.php.

Cheers,
Jon

Yes, the address has been validated. The issue is that if I try and put it in, KC8 comes back saying its not valid. So there is something in the software that is checking it first.

I see the space after the <at>, it is not there in the actual address. That was done by the translator for this forum.

If we're talking about filter rules in Connect Client, there is a problem with entering such long email address. However old classic webmail should work fine and allow you to add such forwarding rule.
