I have a customer with 4 Control firewalls who is annoyed by having to add rules manually to each instance.

I can write a Perl script to do it but that requires stopping and restarting and is annoying in other ways. Any chance in the API, now or in the future?

Hi Tony.

The API in Kerio Control is in experimental phase but you can do this using our kerio-api-php library.

Please, check this code snipped which demonstrates some basic denying HTTP rule. The data structures used in HTTP/FTP rules are a bit complex and use a lot of references, e.g. users, time ranges, url groups etc. so I'm attaching the IDL documentation for you. Please use it for personal purposes and do not share it outside betatesting community.

I would recommend to check the IDL files or just use the Firebug or similar tool to see what request with all the data our Web Administration sends. Smile

Hope it helps.

M.

Well, that's interesting and I could use that to do exactly what he wants.. but I hesitate at the "Please use it for personal purposes and do not share it outside betatesting community" - obviously the customer is not "personal".

Feel free use the code. Just please keep the IDL as a part of your knowledge. Smile It is not available for public nor intended, yet. Smile

I just tried it on my own control instance and was disappointed that it worked out of box with absolutely no tweaking other than setting the credentials.

C'mon, if you give me perfectly workable code, where's my value add??

Smile

Thanks so much - this will help him a great deal. I'll wrap it up in something that cycles through the four machines.
