Our phone system sends voicemails to us by email in WAV format. In the old Kerio Connect webmail interface, these files are downloaded and sent to Quicktime which was klunky but it did work.

Since moving to the new webmail interface, it tries to play them directly in Safari, which is nice, but although it shows the Quicktime player, it refuses to play. On some computers it shows a broken Quicktime logo instead of the player.

It works fine using Firefox, the problem is in Safari.

I am looking for a solution to this which doesn't involve changing my phone system.

Hope someone can help, thanks

We're all on Lion 10.7.5, this problem is not limited to one client computer.

You need to click on the Feedback button in Kerio Connect client to get access there.

Hi macjimbo

I ran into this issue myself and running an update to Safari cured this for me.

You may wish to try this to see if it helps.

Thanks - I have all the latest updates, but it just says 'loading' and never plays the file. Firefox works fine, Safari fails on all client computers.

Anyone else got any ideas?

Thanks

We are also experiencing this problem on Mt. Lion 10.8.4. The wav files are from Kerio Operator, and using Kerio Connect's web client, the wav attachments just show a broken plugin icon. Since it's virtually impossible to not have QuickTime installed on a Mac, and likewise the plug-in in Safari, there must be something else causing this behavior. I'm 100% certain that wav is a supported format in QuickTime as well. As others have pointed out, it works fine in Firefox and in Mail.app.

I'm not aware of any generic issues - we've tested Kerio Operator Voicemail WAV files in Safari on 10.7 to 10.9 and it works fine for us.

Have you tried doing a full reset of Safari?

Best regards,

Neil.
