anyone an idea????
(not using a local, internal SMTP server...)
I just want to send alert mail to extern..

(3550) Unable to send alert message, connection to SMTP relay failed

in the warning LOG...

in SMTP relay tab, tried diff. servers and IPS of SMTP servers and wouldn't work!! also with authentication...

- with a SMTP server of my provider it says always, CANNOT LOCATE IP ADDRESS FOR SPECIFIED SMTP RELAY.

- with another SMTP server it says, CONNECTION TO SMTP RELAY FAILED. CHECK HOSTNAME AND AUTHENTICATION INFORMATION.

It should be simple i think, but what am i doing WRONG???

ThanX....

Same problem here (version 6.0.1). An internal SMTP server works fine, an external doen not work at all. Just got 6.0.2, did not have time to check that version.
