I was hoping someone could advise me on how properly to setup our domain for email sending.

We have the domain 'computerlove.co.uk' the DNS record for this is hosted with our ISP. The 'www' A Tag points to our external windows webserver and the MX record to our internal OS X server.

If someone performs a check on an email sent from our internal OS X Server will it qualify as computerlove.co.uk ?

Not sure that makes sense, but any help would be much appreciated.

Thanks

Jono,

The MX record should point to an official Internet IP address. If I do a lookup I get the following result:

computerlove.co.uk. 1D IN MX 10 relay.codecomputer.com.
computerlove.co.uk. 1D IN MX 20 smtphost.magic-moments.com.
computerlove.co.uk. 1D IN MX 30 relay.magic-moments.com.

Is one of those your OS X server?

Hi Pascal

relay.codecomputer.com is my current Exchange server of which I am replacing.

I have purchased the domain codenetwork.co.uk for the xserve. I was going to set up an A record called 'relay' to point to the XServe's fixed IP Number.

Is this correct?
