This problem is isolated to one user. When a caller leaves a voicemail message, the recording will continue for approximately 45 seconds after the caller has hung up. I can hear the caller hang up, then there's 10 seconds of silence, then another 35 seconds of rapid tones equivalent to a busy tone. The problem is consistent with every message received.

Running v2.1.0

Hi,

are you using an analogue card? The HW card support has been completely rewritten in Operator 2.1.1. Upgrading might fix this. Operator 2.1.1 should come out within a few hours.

Best

Thanks for responding Filip. I'm not using any analogue cards. I have made some headway in determining the cause. It appears to only occur when the receptionist does a blind transfer from our old phone system to a Kerio user's direct line (DID). My old phone system must not be completely releasing the call or something like that.

Hi

Is your old system based on SIP? Or is there some kind of analog-to-voip adapter?

Running a packet sniffer on Operator and reproducing the issue might help us to reveal what's happening. Email the packet dump to fjenicek<_at_>kerio.com.

Not SIP based, and no adapter involved. We're simply transferring the caller to the full SIP DID, as if transferring the caller to an external number.

Perhaps the phone is not sending proper hang up signal? It must be terminating a session with a BYE Request (or at least SIP/2.0 487 Request Terminated) otherwise Kerio does not know the call was ended (and I am assuming it will record the call until some kind of timeout).

More about SIP BYE signal here:
