Has anyone else seen this?

1, From an external server ( usually ms exchange ), an event invite comes into Connect and appears correctly in webmail/Calendar.app.
2, The event displays the organizer's original timezone and time is properly adjusted for our timezone.
3, Our recipients/invitees accept the invite - All is well.
4, A day or two goes by and all of a sudden our recipients/invitees notice that the event has moved to a different time and the the timezone is set to "Floating" - this is reflected in both Calendar.app and webmail.

Sometimes that organizer claims that nothing on their end has changed. Sometimes this issue happens after the organizer updates the event ( changes duration or moves it to another time entirely ).

This behavior occurs with several different external calendar servers.

Our current hypothesis is that the timezone gets dropped or misinterpreted after the event is edited. But we have no concrete evidence yet.

thank you,
Dominic

We are seeing the exact same thing. Would love to hear from Kerio on the "floating" time zone issue.

We are seeing the same issue and it just got worse for a few of our clients after the 8.2 upgrade (they are using hosted Kerio from a partner). It seems that many existing events were fine but now show as floating on multiple devices, but as PST (Pacific time zone) in Webmail.

Combination is Kerio 8.2 on the back end, 10.6.8 on the computers and iOS 6 and/or iOS 7 on the mobile end.

Anyone else see an increase in this issue since 8.2?

Thanks in advance...

"floating" event is an iCal feature. The client ignores the time zone definition in the event. Apple iCal knows the timezone only by name. If the event is created or modified by any other client, the iCal could fail to recognize the time zone.
We need to see the .eml files to help.

I have a client on KC 8.1.3 and we are seeing this issue for some users...they are all using Apple Calendar in 10.9.3 (Mavericks)

Has this been resolved for others using KC 8.2 or 8.3 or is still an ongoing issue?

Thanks!

"Floating" means that Calendar app does not recognize the time zone of the event. iCal and Calendar in general have poor compatibility with other calendaring clients in terms of time zones.
I think we need to see the source file of the event.

Thanks Pavel...I will try to get a copy of one of the source files.

The question still remains...is this happening for others using KC 8.2.x or 8.3.x with iCal or Calendar?

Again...the issue is not about "floating" events as much as is about the fact that it BECOMES a floating event after the fact and without any user interaction.

Anyone?

Thanks

Hi Pavel,
We are seeing the same problem. In Kerio Webmail and in iOS the Time Zone setting is respected and appears correctly. In Calendar (Mac OS 10.9.4) the event changes to Floating and the time zone is ignored. We get meeting events from a wide range of east coast clients. It's difficult for us to nail down what calendar clients these events are coming from. Have you found any workaround for this issue ?

thanks
