Good Afternoon All,

I have eventually bitten the bullet and upgrade to 8.1 due to the issues we were having in V7 and I want to take advantage of the IM feature. This would save our IT lots of daily emails if we had IM.

I have configured everything as expected including the DNS records. The Kerio DNS tool in the IM comes back with two ticks. The issue is when I try to establish a connection to the server it just fails to authenticate. No matter what the password will just fail. I have tried this with users on AD and on the Kerio internal database.

Below is the IM logs from the debug menu.

According to log you have provided it looks like the Instant Messaging service is running properly. There are few things that could prevent client to login:

1. You have chosen incorrect pair of port and security. Use either port 5222 and TLS (no SSL) or port 5223 and SSL. Check for details our kb article http://kb.kerio.com/product/kerio-connect/instant-messaging/ configuring-clients-for-instant-messaging-1411.html .

2. You have configured Instant Messaging service to limit access to some ip groups. Rejected connections would be logged into warning log.

3. Instant Messaging is denied in your User Access Policy settings. Rejected connections would be logged into security log.

Please send me name of your client and platform, screenshot of its configuration plus debug, error and warning logs if any of above hints did not help you. You can use your favourite sharing service and send me the link through PM.

Regards,
Tomas Skoda

Good Morning Tomas,

I have tried all of the above and nothing is working and I can not see anything obvious in the logs. I have checked the IP groups and I am in the right IP range.
I am running a Mac and I also have a Windows 7 VM that has them same issue. The system is running on a Xserve 10.6. Can you let me know when you are free and we could always perform a team viewer session.
