I'm having a terrible time getting free/busy to work. I'm lost at this point as to what to do.

Initially I was getting the same error that everyone seems to get. I searched through the forums and I have seen many of these same posts that detail how creating SSL certs and importing them fixes the problem. I have created a cert for mail.mycompany.com. I have imported that cert into my trusted folder. I have created a new profile with KOC that is pointed at mail.mycompany.com. I'm still getting an error when trying to add an attendee to an appointment, however it's slightly different and has resulted in a different problem. It reads:

An error occurred reading Internet free/busy data. Something unexpected went wrong with this URL: "http://mail.mycompany.com/freebusy/?user%40mycompany.com".

If I try to access the URL in the error message I get a 403 error.

The address that outlook is configured to use is https://mail.mycompany.com:443/freebusy/%SERVER%/%NAME%. If I enter https://mail.mycompany.com:443/freebusy/mycompany.com/user into a browser it works. Likewise, http://mail.mycompany.com/freebusy/mycomapny.com/user works. However, neither of these are the URL that Outlook is actually using.

Freebusy works in webmail.

I am only trying this on my workstation at this point.

Can anyone provide any guidance that will help me get this working?

Thanks.

UPDATE:

I noticed that no matter what I changed the freebusy address to in outlook, after clicking OK and reopening the dialog box it would be changed back to https://mail.mycompany.com:443/freebusy/%SERVER%/%NAME%. I did a registry search and found the address http://mail.mycompany.com/freebusy/%SERVER%/%NAME%. If I changed that to https://mail.mycompany.com:443/freebusy/%SERVER%/%NAME% and then reopened Outlook it changed back to http://mail.mycompany.com/freebusy/%SERVER%/%NAME%. I uninstalled KOC, delete the KOC profile and set up an IMAP mail profile. No matter what I did while the IMAP mail profile was set up, the changes that I made to the freebusy address were retained. I reinstalled KOC and created a new KOC profile. While the setting in the registry is no longer changing back to http://mail.mycompany.com/freebusy/%SERVER%/%NAME%, Outlook is still trying to reach out to http://mail.mycompany.com/freebusy/?user%40mycompany.com.

UPDATE 2:

Same behavior found on a different system. Installed KOC on my laptop. Outlook trying to access freebusy information at http://mail.mycompany.com/freebusy/?user%40mycompany.com while the setting in Outlook is https://mail.mycompany.com:443/freebusy/%SERVER%/%NAME%.

Open that URL in Internet Explorer. Do you get a server certificate error? If yes, then you need to install server SSL certificate to Windows. The certificate must be valid, issued for correct hostname.

Hi

The url works now and points to the correct host name as configured in Kerio, yet the same issue presents itself

The same SSL Cert was recreated in Kerio and installed on my machine by accessing the following url https://server ip/server.cer

The cert also shows in IE as well.

When using that link which is
https://mail.soundstylists.co.za/freebusy/soundstylists.co.z a/username

We are prompted to save the ics file, when accepting this, we get a message saying that nothing is in the calendar for that user

Any ideas?

Thanks for the reply

For the record for those looking for help, here is what made it work for me

1 - In outlook, options/calendar/free/busy, copy the address which should be something like:
https://<mail server>:443 and paste it into Internet Explorer address bar, does it present a Certificate error, if so, this is the problem, you need to make this work so that it does not come up with an error, also make sure publish location is un-ticked

I then accessed the following link in IE:
https://<mail server>/server.cer

I then saved the certificate to my machine and opened it and when asked to install it, I selected
1 - Place all certificates in the following store "Trusted Root Certification Authorities"
2 - Do the same thing again and this time select the tick box show physical stores, then expand Trusted Root Certification Authorities an select "Local Computer" and install it there.

By doing this and making sure your free/busy link in outlook is correct and the same as what is in the Kerio admin Certificate it should work.

The link that is displayed in the free/busy outlook options is auto generated by how you configure your mail account in the control panel in the mail setting when setting up your mail account for the first time using the Kerio offline installer, this is done by doing the following:

https://<mail server>/integration/integration2/windows.html

This installer allows you to pick Kerio when creating your mail account for the 1st time when doing the following:

Start/settings/control panel/mail
New account
Other
Kerio Connect KOC Offline Edition

The issue that im presented with no that im trying to resolve is:

I can view other staff free/busy, but it does not show in the shared calendar view when they are or are not free, eg

Staff member creates a new appointment and saves it, on my machine when I open a shared calendar "the other staff member" it does not show that new appointment that was created.

By "shared calendar" you mean a shared mailbox added to Kerio Outlook Connector account settings "Other mailboxes" ?

Afraid not no

We created a resource called Events_Calendar, made it a room and then assigned someone to manage it

What we aim to achieve is to create a simple meeting, check when people are free and when they are not in calendar view (free/busy) and to book them when they are free, the resource could be a truck or a boardroom etc

Its rather simple, yet we cant do this

All seems to be working now, I've noticed that when creating a meeting with another user or a resource, there is a huge time delay before the entry is shown in shared calendar views in outlook on Windows

Mac on the other hand works perfectly, as does ICal, Outlook on Mac and Thunderbird.
