Hi :)

I've got winroute firewall 6 on windows 2000 (PCChips M560 and P200Mhz 64Mb RAM) with 2 ethernet cards and USB DSL internet connection. On every end of each card I've got one computer connected with crosslink cable. I've got 2 questions:

1. Very often my "router" hangs and is it possible that winroute does it? (Ex buffer overflow?)
2. Why does I can't do windows update on client stations (on router it works fine)? I tried to forward HTTPS and HTTP to specified IP but it doesn't work..(When I go to windows update web site and click on scan for updates my IE hans..When I connect directly to DSL line all works fine..So it's something with firewall I think)

Pleace help!

Archon^^

About your point 2,

Two solutions:
1. Enable the proxy server in Winroute and configure IE to use Internet Explorer.
2. Configure the MTU of the NIC (for each client). You can use Dr. TCP (you can find it with google) to change this. You'll find more info about this on google, but if you set the MTU for the adapter to 1400, Windows Update will work again. It has something to do with fragmentation.

Good luck!
