I am currently setting up a test environment (virtual applicane) which needs to connect with a OS 10.8 server. The server offers the directory for our domain. It is all working fine -> I connected the domain, successfully imported the users, but then it suddenly comes to an end. When I try to log in the UI shows an error stating that the username or password is wrong.
At first I inspected the log files. Result:
"... External authentication service rejected authentication due to invalid password or authentication restriction."

Setup overview:
Linux machine (Kerio Connect) tries to connect to 10.8 OpenDirectory. Domain setup is based on Kerberos.

How can I fix this?

Enable Authentication messages in the debug log.
The server is most likely not a member of OD domain or the Kerberos client is not configured correctly. entication-with-osx-107-against-an-opendirectory-server-911. html
