Is there a way I can send and insert an ICS file (Calendar) event into a users calendar without authentication or accepting an email?

i.e. I have a Scheduling Database (4D), which creates an ics file and can be sent over email or web services. I do not want the user to see the email for the event, we would like the event to be inserted into the users calendar and it be read only. I want to avoid the users email getting cluttered with invites and avoid the user declining or modifying the event.

I looked on your support site but could not find what I was looking for. Thank you.

Hi Smithy,

I doubt that their will be a way to do this as the event has to be accepted by a user so that event can be created into their calendar the correct way and get the next available file name. You might be able to achieve this via CalDAV as we support the CalDAV standard but this is something you would need to look into and code yourself as you would have to generate the event as the user to avoid meeting invites being sent to the user.

I hope some of the above helps, if not hopefully another forum user has achieved this before.

All the best,
