Under "Changes in 8.1.0" there was this;
Kerio Control Administration: Added ability to view, delete, download rotated log files

The feature sounds great but where is it? I have no luck in finding from where I can download the logs in the Admin Console. Can anyone point me in the right direction? Where in the Console is this?

Access to rotated parts in older versions was problematic (SSH, SCP...).

In 8.1 log viewer in administration show rotated files automatically (just scroll up) and download/delete all parts at once.

Ahh - so it does.

This sure could have been described better!

"Added ability to view, delete, download rotated log files"

"Ability" implies this is something you need to activate, rather than something that just happens.

Better would be:

"Rotated log files are now included in the administration view" or similar.

Also: this behavior also changes "Clear log" rather drastically - it now clears all the rotated logs too, which is very likely NOT be be what was intended, expected or desired!

As an example I usually set to save 365 of the daily rotating log files. Daily is for the busy ones, like http. On average a daily log file here is 10MB. So would this mean that when we're on version 8 (still running 7.4) and right-click to download as you say "all parts at once" we would be getting one single file of 3,6 GB?
Sizes like that are rather tiresome to use. Lets say I want to do a quick search, then just to open it would take a long long time.
Maybe our situation is unusual but here we need to save logs for years back. I still save our WinRoute logs that now are over ten years old.

Yeah, this could have used a bit more thought..

I was expecting something that actually would match that "Added ability to view, delete, download rotated log files" description - allowing me to load one or two or all into the viewer on demand rather than automatically, and delete or download the same idea.
