I've never really looked at the statistics page but I was asked to provide some information about what kind of volume of mail we were seeing.

A casual glance at the page things look good but when you actually study the figures some just don't seem to stack up, can anyone say how accurate are these figures?

For example, the total number of messages sent and received is roughly 4.5 million yet it has managed to do antivirus checks on nearly 6 million attachments. As the bulk of the messages are attachment free, how can that figure be so high? Unless an 'attachment' also includes an image embedded in a message, in which case it is way too low.

If I look at the spam log I can see the various spam checks working well and a ton of messages getting rejected. Yet the stats page shows me that on average, just 11 messages per day are being rejected. Again, that is just way too low.

The stats page isn't really life or death, I was curious as to whether or not it can be trusted.
