Hi Guys,

Having Outlook on a terminal server or citrix environment using the kerio connector causes quite a huge cache file PER USER (public folder cache + own mailbox)

What's the recommended/supported way to work around this?

Regards

Hi Stargazer

You should have a look at this KB article -

http://kb.kerio.com/product/kerio-connect/email-clients/keri o-outlook-connector/how-to-modify-store-location-for-the-ker io-outlook-connector-offline-258.html

it details how to modify the Kerio outlook connector cache location so you can move it away from the normally small C: drive and onto a larger drive.

Hope this helps!

Hi Mark,

sadly this does only move the problem.

Imagine 100 Users in a Citrix environment + ~2 GB public folders = 200 GB caches + 100x personal mailboxes...

Hi Stargazer

Hmm, yes that would be a lot of storage required. It would also need a clustered TS environment to support such as well. With a lot of physical RAM and fast storage/CPU's etc.

I'd recommend our webmail client in this case as this will work better and be very light on space/memory/CPU.

If thats not an option, you would need to consider splitting user's with Outlook onto multiple servers to help spread the load on the TS environment.

I hope this helps.

found the Kerio 'online' Connector. That just solves it...

Hi Stargazer

I'm sorry but the online connector is not recommended for Terminal server use now. its there for legacy clients specifically and is not developed in the same way that the offline connector is developed.

We only recommend the offline connector, especially for terminal server.

There is a suggestion for an 'online' mode for the offline connector, you should use the 'suggest idea' feature in Connect to increase the score.

I hope this helps.

Hi Mark,

please tell me that you're kidding. If I can't find a nice way to get things up here, management will kiss kerio goodbye.
