Dear,

At this moment we are using our Kerio Connect product with the paid Activesync extension. I read on http://kb.kerio.com/product/kerio-connect/email-clients/acti vesync/exchange-activesync-paid-service-faqs-1342.html that Kerio has Activesync version 12. Since version 2.5 of Activesync there is support to force the user to use a passcode (see also this article: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Exchange_ActiveSync#Exchange_Ac tiveSync_2.5).

Why is there no option in Kerio to force users to have a pincode or password set on their mobile device? Will this option become available to Kerio Connect? It's nice that we can read our e-mail on our mobile devices, but when the device is stolen AND the user didn't have a pincode or password on his device, than we might have a security problem.

Hi,

We do not have a feature for a passcode to gain access to email. I am pretty sure we have a suggestion listed by our customers in feedback.kerio.com. Please go to your WebAdmin, login and use the 'Suggest Idea' button, this will take you to the correct section of the website and you can increase the vote for this or create a new feature request for it.

The one security feature you do have with ActiveSync is the 'Wipe' feature from the Web Admin:

http://manuals.kerio.com/connect/adminguide/en/sect-mobdevic es.html

This is the main protection you can use with a mobile device that may have been lost or stolen.

I hope this helps a little.

All the best,
Vicky

I think it is indeed possible: http://forums.kerio.com/m/102549/?srch=Mobile+device+policy# msg_102549. I will test this. I missed it because it's not in the GUI. Embarassed
