Hi There,

we have our kerio-connect server cloned to a test environment so it has identical configuration.
Now I try to delete local users and add them as directory user in this test environment. But when I did this, the user is suddenly a directory user on our production mailserver as well!!!
I really like to test this all before changing all users and groups on our productive mailserver, does anyone have an idea what I have to change in configuration to make this work?

Thanks
Andreas

Hi ahu

This is probably due to the Kerio active directory extensions and AD. as soon as you add a user as an AD user in connect, its going to be reflect on any other connect server attached to the AD domain.

is your main server connected to AD? if so, this will be why.

I hope this helps.

Hi Mark,

yes I already thought, that this Directory Extension is causing this. We are using Open Directory.
But now the question, how to prevent this for our test server to happen?

Thanks

Hi Andreas

I'm not sure there is any way around this apart from not using OD/AD on your test server and only use local kerio accounts.

You could in theory set up a test OD server and have connect attached to this for your testing, but changing a local user to an OD user is a pretty simple task in theory.

I hope this helps.
