Sometimes i use alpine mail client - a text based email client - I have been unable to figure out how to get it to connect successfully to Kerio Connect via LDAP.

The settings in alpine which need to set are as follows

ldap-server =
search-base =
port =
bind-dn =

I have tried using the following

ladp-server = domain.name.myserver.com
search-base = fn=ContactRoot
port = 636

the bind-dn i am not at all sure what i should set to.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

Hi Nwab,

Welcome to the forums!

I have no experience with Alpine Mail client, however I do have a knowledge base article that shows the settings needed for Thunderbirds LDAP lookup.

http://kb.kerio.com/1010

From the settings you say Alpine is asking for I would bet the settings for ThunderBird and Alpine would line up. Have a look at the article and see if the settings from ThunderBird will work as LDAP is a pretty standard protocol.

I hope this helps,
Vicky
