We have a client who has a Kerio Operator system who answers calls for 3 different companies through 3 different sets of extensions (eg. some phones can have 3 extensions on them, 1 for each company).

We need to make it so that depending on which extension they select to make an outgoing call, it uses a specific outgoing SIP interface. For example:

Company 1: Extensions 101, 102, 103
Company 2: Extensions 201, 202, 203

User 1 Phone: Extensions 101 and 201

Phone Accounts: 1234 (calls into extensions 10x), and 5678 (calls into extensions 20x)

If a user selects extension 101, it should use the outbound route for 1234
If a user selects extension 201, it should use the outbound route for 5678

Is there any way of doing this? Maybe force an extension to add a prefix to each dialled number and use prefixing to select the different route?

Hi,

such thing is currently not supported. In long term, we plan to re-factor the whole call routing functionality. Until then, you must use prefixes.

Some phones, such as snoms, can be configured to automatically dial a prefix depending on the account being used. You can configure the dialplan rules from the phone's web administration (Identity 1 -> SIP -> Dial-Plan). However, the setting will be lost after a reboot. To make the change permanent, one has to edit the provisioning files in Operator. See this article for more information.

I'm not sure that's entirely true, Filip.

It was my understanding that if an Incoming Route was matched to an extension, that route is also the default for Outgoing, if no prefix is used.

For example:

1234 <-> 101
5678 <-> 201
etc...

However, the downside is that you don't appear to be able to match to multiple internal extensions. The only fix would be multiple registration which would alter internal call capability.

That may not be a concern if functionality is achieved on a few select phones.

It is at least worth consideration.

Yes, you are right. However, there is a small catch. When calling out while the matching interface is busy/down/broken, the call will automatically use the next available outbound route.

I'm assuming that the incoming/outgoing route system won't work if the incoming route is matched to a ring group instead of an extension?

Found a solution for choose an outgoing identity !

nr 1 to 201, forward to group 301 (201,202,203)
nr 2 to 202, forward to group 302 (201,203,205 etc)
nr 3 to 203, forward to group 303 (204,205,206 etc)

make at each user another identity 201p1,201p2, 202p1,202p2 etc

Each phone provision with 3 identities
Then you can choose the exact outgoing identity.(Manual give a name in the phone for the outgoing identity ! (can not provision that automatically when i use not a user for that0

best regards,

H.Barlage
