Hello,
I would make an update from version 7.4.2 to version 8.1.3. Could anyone explain me, what i must did and what i must consider.
Another part i'm interresting in, is the expenditure of time i need to update, because i must inform the staff, how many time i need and how many time they can't use the E-mail funktion. All in all i need tips to update our system.
Thanks for all Kerio community.

Hi Lucas,

First off you should ensure that your hardware meets the minimum system requirements for Kerio Connect 8. You'll find those here:

http://www.kerio.com/connect/requirements

You should also ensure that you have adequate disk space to handle the upgrade process, and for the future. (As the maxim goes - you can never have too much disk space!)

You must also ensure that your Software Maintenance is up to date - you can check that in your Webadmin panel. If not, then the upgrade will not work.

The actual process is very simple, and the instructions can be found here:

http://kb.kerio.com/1152
and http://kb.kerio.com/451

Make sure you have run a full backup before you start!

It is very difficult to gauge how long it will take - the server software upgrade should only take around 30 minutes under normal circumstances; but there are post upgrade processes that will run. These can cause performance issues, and sometimes issues for individual users, for up to 48 hours; so whilst users should be able to work, you'll need to keep your eye on it.

I would recommend that you raise a support ticket if you get stuck.

Best regards,

Neil.

I'm in the same boat. All requirements are met.
Any update on how smoothly the upgrade process went?
