I have a timeout issue when sending to a certain domain from my kerio system. I ran a manual test via telnet and it takes this other system about 1 minute to respond to the "rcpt to:" command. all other commands respond instantly. When sending via kerio, it's timeing out and giving up before the rcpt to is responded to.

Is this some new anti-spam technique, or is there something wrong with their server?

also, can i increase the timeout in kerio to tolerate this? I know it could cause a potential server load issues (maxing out smtp threads) but my overall load is very light so I'm not worried about that.

Hi,

This is a known issue with some versions of Exchange Server.

This article may help:

http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/exchange/en-US/f8 f4e80d-9020-4900-904e-ca087ac172e8/250-215-recipient-ok-extr emely-long-delay

Which version of Kerio Connect are you running? The timeout was increased to 5 minutes in Kerio Connect 7.3.0, which is inline with the RFC.

Best regards,

Neil.
