Hi,

I tried to install the update this morning on our Server, but it failed. During the update process, nothing happend for a Long time. I saw the mailserver.exe process running, but nothing happend so far. After a while, I killed the process and the System told me, that the Installation was finished. Unfortunatelly, the Kerio Service then won't start anymore. Windows processes Windows Showed me the Status "Starting" and in the taskmanager mailserver.exe was running with a very low Memory consumption and CPU load 3-5%. After trying to uninstall and reinstall again, I went back to the old Version, which (*puhh*) worked without Problems.

Same thing happened to my installation (Mac OS X Leopard), thought the installer finished normally. After upgrade, there was no admin service or webmail or IMAP... 'KerioMailServer start' command said it was not running... Had to downgrade...

64 bit Windows version did the same thing to me. How can this be released like this? Makes me totally nervous to try again till this gets sorted out. I should have waited till the first maintenance release.

What does the system log (and Console.app) say? It should contain important messages about service start.

When the process mailserver.exe hangs, please run the Kassist.exe utility and upload a snapshot or running process to Kerio servers. It helps us to solve the issue.
Thank you.

Hi Pavel,
I'm currently not willing to try this again. My heart stopped for a bit when the mail services would not start. I can't make that a daily thing. Here is the error I see in the system log.

error ID 7000
The Kerio Connect service failed to start due to the following error:
The system cannot find the file specified.

and in the application log:
Product: Kerio Connect -- Error 1920. Service Kerio Connect (KerioMailServer) failed to start. Verify that you have sufficient privileges to start system services.

Pavel, I already worked with Kerio Support on this, as I was not getting anything regarding startup messages on the logs, either Kerio debug or system. I removed all debug log message checks, rebooted the server and last night I retried the upgrade and its working as well as all the updates I've done for all these years. I'm not sure what might have been the problem the first time. Thanks!

Tried the update twice again. Failed both times while trying to start the services. I'm installing on Windows 2008 R2 64 bit version. Not sure if that is a deciding factor.
I'm very disappointed with how badly this update has gone. Hopefully a fix will come out soon.

The rollback to version 8.1.3 was painless and worked as it should. Kerio - please find a fix.

Anyone with the same configuration as me ever get 8.2 to install? No luck here so far.
I submitted a bug report last week but never got a reply.

Just as a thought - this Microsoft article may apply:

It fixed one of our support tickets.

All the best,

Neil.
