Hi everyone,

I'm testing Invaluement.

My questions have to do with Invaluement's URI capabilities, uri.invaluement.com. I need to add rules to SpamAssassin to get their URI to work.

Invaluement has asked that I edit the local.cf file and I'm concerned that if I make my modifications to local.cf that every time we update Kerio to a new version that file may be overwritten. I'm not sure about this, but I wanted to ask in case someone here knows. Maybe I should be creating a new file with a different name with the uri.invaluement.com rules that SpamAssassin will read that would not be overwritten by Kerio updates?

Here are the rules that Invaluement has asked that I add to SpamAssassin:

add the following to the local.cf file in SA:
## ivmURI

urirhssub URIBL_IVMURI XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX. A 2
body URIBL_IVMURI eval:check_uridnsbl('URIBL_IVMURI')
describe URIBL_IVMURI Contains a URL listed on ivmURI
found at invaluement.com
tflags URIBL_IVMURI net
reuse URIBL_IVMURI

score URIBL_IVMURI 0 4 0 4 # n=0 n=2

CRITICAL NOTES: the "4" and "4" on the last line give it a score of 4. You can increase/decrease this as desired.

Thanks in advance for any pointers on this!

Yes, it is recommended to create your own .cf file.

The local.cf file is indeed overwritten everytime you update KC.

You can check if your file is read properly if you switch on "SpamAssassin Processing" in the debug log. Then restart KC and check the debug log.

Thanks for that info.

I've not modified the SpamAssassin files before. So, leave the local.cf file as is? Then, create another .cf file named something like invaluement.cf or zlocal.cf and put it in the same folder as local.cf and SpamAssassin will process it?

Sorry to be so basic with this, but I'm a novice with the local.cf file. Smile

You can name it as you like, so anything.cf and it will be picked up.

Leave the local.cf file as is.
