I have a problem with data usage on our shared server.

What tools out there could tell us which user(s) are saturating our bandwidth with outbound IMAPS ?

Most decent routers have a packet capture feature that you can examine the data. Now, if you're in a hosted environment in a datacenter it's a bit trickier as you will only get the external IP address of the remote location doing the downloading but that's good enough to narrow it down.

Active connections show up in administration, so knowing the IP address should be sufficient. The operations log may also be helpful to find out what is happening, and there may also be a correlation between outgoing bandwidth and mail store sizes.

Thanks all.. yes, our router was able to provide enough info to track down the source of the traffic.
