I would like to get clarification on how the "sender anti-spoofing protection" settings in KC 8.2.0 work.

In Security / Sender Policy I have the following settings:

CHECKED (Enabled): User must authenticate in order to sending messages from a local domain

UNCHECKED (Disabled): Reject messages with spoofed local domain sender identity

CHECKED (Enabled): Never reject messages from this IP address group (Local clients)

The result that I want is for KC to reject any incoming messages sent by unauthenticated users from outside our LAN that purport to be from any of the local domains defined on the KC server, since these will pretty much by definition be Spam that is spoofing the From address.

However, I want authenticated users to be able to send emails from any email address they choose, which is why the second option is disabled.

Will these settings do what I described?

And if so, where in the log files will the blocking of emails based on the first option appear?

These will appear in the Security Log and look like this:

Message from IP address, sender <sendername<_at_>mydomain.org> rejected: sender domain requires authentication
