having some strange behaviour

2 internal users were addressed in an email from an outside source

i can see both addresses in the TO: field of the email

only 1 of the users received the email

i checked the headers of the email.. & the second user (the one who didn't receive the email) was not listed in the X_Envelope-To:

how could that be?

any help / insight greatly appreciated

The "To:" field in the header is not really relevant. You can have in there anything you like. Many times I see "Undisclosed recipients", or someone different from me.

It all matters whom the mail is addressed to in the SMTP dialog. So I would first check with the sender, if he really has sent the mail to both users. You can also check the mail log to see more details.

Sometimes it happens that the sender does not separate the recipients correctly. Most mail clients accept a "," or a ";" as separator. If that is not done correctly, the mail might only be sent to the first recipient.
