I've managed to get a Synology 1813+ with Directory Server setup and Control can "see" the users but no combination of usernames/passwords allows anybody to login. I've tried:

"username"
"username@domain"
"username<_at_>ldap.domain.com" fqdn of nas for lookups.

Ideas?

Here's the authentication error I get when trying to log into the web:

19/Feb/2014 21:48:50] Authentication: WebInterface: Client: X.X.X.X: Invalid password for NT/Kerberos user SteveSmith

Hi HoosierMac

I'm sorry to say we only support MS Active Directory and Apple Open Directory in Control for user authentication.
I suspect they are using some form of OpenLDAP on the Synology nas device, which we don't support at the moment.

You should use the 'suggest idea' feature and add this to here though.

Hope this helps.

Yes, it's openldap on the Synology box, I thought I read that ldap was supported however I can see it's not. Too bad, I'll make a feature request as it shouldn't be too hard to implement. I can see all of the users, I just cannot authenticate as them.

Just saw this was already a suggestion and I gave it 3 votes. With how terrible Apple server products are we have been moving to Synology boxes for small business servers.
