I have a cable modem. The network card must have a certain mac address. Only then I get an ip address!!!
How can I change the interface mac address permanently in the network card?

ip link set dev eth0 address aa:aa:aa:aa:aa:aa

After the restart it is again the original hardware address.

AFAIK, if you use vmware, there is an option for you to change Mac address.

But I do not think Kerio Control would allow you to do that.
