Is it possible to only allow access to mail from certain approved devices?

Due to the possibility of confidential information, I am wanting to only allow our users to access mail from certain devices. Currently Kerio allows you to integrate mail on any computer by following the steps from the log-in window. Just wondering if there is a way to limit this.

Thanks!

Hi Jake,

This would be a great feature!!! Sadly it is not possible in Kerio Connect currently. You can restrict the users as to what protocols they can use to access their email with but you cannot limit/approve the devices the user connects up. Please use the 'Suggest Idea' button in the WebAdmin to list this as a feature request as it is a good idea that does make a lot of sense.

The only thing you can really do is make sure the users password is strong and perhaps have http/https access on a non standard port to try and make it more difficult for people to try and get access to WebMail or ActiveSync.

I hope some of this is helpful.

All the best,
Vicky

Definion of allowed devices is not possible, but you can still do some actions to avoid BYOD:
- use only officially supported EAS devices and do not enable synchronization of unsupported EAS devices
- limit access to services only from certain IP addresses
- use Access Policy for users or groups of users (deny all services they don't use)
- use our API to periodically check what EAS devices are used - http://www.kerio.com/developers/code-examples or other details about users.

I think other actions are more related to Kerio Control, than Kerio Connect: external access only via VPN, MAC address filter, etc.
or policy on user's computer (do not allow install software or set new account), encryption etc.
