I get high loads all over the day and i found a real problem under my tmp folder:

root@mail:/opt/kerio/mailserver/store/tmp# ls -la

-rw------- 1 root root 267404 Apr 23 12:18 21849-1d48.tmp
-rw------- 1 root root 443268672 Apr 23 12:19 21849-3d8c.tmp
-rw------- 1 root root 7246260 Apr 23 12:18 21849-4921.tmp
-rw------- 1 root root 9856224 Apr 23 12:18 21849-7f84.tmp
-rw------- 1 root root 443995728 Apr 23 12:19 21849-db14.tmp
-rw------- 1 root root 274744 Apr 23 12:18 21849-ef0a.tmp
drwx------ 2 root root 4096 Apr 18 08:12 download
drwx------ 2 root root 4096 Apr 22 23:24 upload

No, it does not play.
These are temporary files containing responses to your email clients. Obviously, some user is downloading megabytes of data from the server. I assume he synchronizes his mailbox or perhaps public folders to his email/groupware client.

Pavel take a look at this morning:

-rw------- 1 root root 274744 Apr 24 08:59 24142-3523.tmp
-rw------- 1 root root 7246260 Apr 24 08:59 24142-6193.tmp
-rw------- 1 root root 443995728 Apr 24 09:00 24142-64f8.tmp
-rw------- 1 root root 9856224 Apr 24 08:59 24142-83e6.tmp
-rw------- 1 root root 267404 Apr 24 08:59 24142-bcc5.tmp
-rw------- 1 root root 443268672 Apr 24 09:00 24142-d84f.tmp

-rw------- 1 root root 267404 Apr 24 09:04 24142-24c7.tmp
-rw------- 1 root root 9856224 Apr 24 09:04 24142-3cc5.tmp
-rw------- 1 root root 7246260 Apr 24 09:04 24142-3f59.tmp
-rw------- 1 root root 443268672 Apr 24 09:03 24142-4b15.tmp
-rw------- 1 root root 443995728 Apr 24 09:03 24142-4b40.tmp
-rw------- 1 root root 274744 Apr 24 09:04 24142-5fbe.tmp

First: It is a problem if the server creates hunderts of megabytes only for syncing a mailbox!
Second: Some user has 40 Giga on emails in there box, do i have to expect a big coming crash in future days?

Mailboxes are crowing up more and more in the future too! So what can be a realy smart solution to sync clients without filling the server with tonns of files?

Edit:
OK i did a "watch ls -la" inside the tmp folder and see the server creates around 1 gigabyte every minute! 2 files with 440 - 450 mbyte and some smaller ones.
Discload and cpuload is high - no wonders about! Sad
