When we started using Kerio back even before they were called Kerio Connect we used to use LDAP mapping with our OD (Hosted on a 10.6 Mac). We were getting very poor performance on the mail server, and working with the Kerio Tech Staff were able to determain that the amount of groups that our OD used (we have a very active OD used for filesharing groups) was bogging down the server and we were advised to stop using it. So we did.

A lot of time has passed and I'm going to assume that OD integration got better, and my almost 300 OD groups won't slow it down anymore.

All of our users are Local Password users, so my thought process was:

Create new Kerio user with password xx
Create same OD user with password XXX
Bound Kerio Domain to our OD
Change User to Kerberos 5 auth
See if the user picks up the change

I did those first 2 things, bound the server using Kerberos 5 to our OD ( tested creds and get a test passed message). Went into users and the whole user page was blank with an error (I did not screenshot it since I was too busy having a heart attack) complaining about being unable to sync. I turned back off the OD mapping after that, and all my users reappeared.

Has anyone used Local Users and successfully switched to a mix of Local and OD users? Did I miss a step?
