In the old client version, the autofill feature of mailboxes names worked in a different and of course better way than in the new client. Autofill worked overs several contact names at a time while in the new one it works one by one. The other difference is that while the former did not need "confirmation" for an autofill when there were no more than one name fitting the wording or no undefinition, the new one waits for an enter or a click to produce the fill.

Other featere that is not working is the autofill working with the "description" of the target mailbox. It works only with the first name, last name or email fields of contact record, while in the old client ir worked also with "Company" field. this feature was extremely usefull to look for people that you don't remember the name.

Finally, new one do not permit to select (check) what contact folders to search and what not. In the old client, we have the possibility of make choices on what contact folder the autofill work, in the new client it is not possible.

Please, tell us if those features are to be taken into acocunt in new updates. If not, it would be almost impossible to make old customers to abandon old client version.

All the things you are describing have one common reason. In the old client there was no auto-fill. You just used the browser function that remembers if you have filled a certain form and then pre-fills the fields in a form. This is not a function from Kerio Connect.

The new client is using a Kerio Connect-provided mechanism similar to Outlook Auto-Complete. It pulls email addresses from the address book and it also learns email addresses. This has the advantage that the autocomplete works on any browser on any machine.

So I don't think the functionality you want, will come back. I don't miss it, though, I find the new functionality much better. But everybody has different needs for sure.

I is hard to think the the autocomplete feature over multiple contact was a "browser function". The web client had a button "check names" that performed that function on demand, and it also worked just typing the contact names and going off of the "to" field. Was that a browser function? Ok. Anyway, it was much more efficient that the autofill / check name, included in new client because the former worked over several names at a time and we did not need to click or enter to confirm.

But what about the current "autofill/autocomplete/check name" funtion to search by "company" and not only by name. This worked on old client and did not work in new one.

and what about "selecting" the contact folder to search for. This tool was present in old client and not in new one.

all those tolos were indeed in old client and not in new one, and in fact we are paying more and receiving less. I do not agree that "new funtionality is better": previously, with just one step, all contact names where checked and complete in just one operation, now we have to type one and wait, type another and wait, and so on. Is that better? Strange. This is not a good comercial practice.

This can be improved.

Auto-complete function searches in all contact folders, including public ones. Can you describe a scenario when user needs to select only particular contact folder instead of letting the client to search all possible places?

Dear Pavel,

the possible scenarios are related with asistants/secretaries that usually manage the global contact directory, plus his personal contact folder plus his box contact folder, and somentimes (our company case) they cover other assistants in case of vacations or our of office. I received some claims from them because they have sent mails t not proper persons just because the system had the possibility to look in all folders and not in some. I, as administrator, have also the problem because I "see" several Corporate level contct folders built in "public" area of mail. the problem is not just "seen" it but to be suggested names from all those contact folders when working on my personal / own mail.
Other scenario is with "delegation" facility. Delegation can be to actively wortk on the mailbox who delegates, or just to have the possibility of working on behalf of them in special cases, emergency, out of office, etc. Again, in normal day work, you will see contacts that are not own ones and this increases the risk to dleiver mails to wrong person. This had happened, it is not just a theory, this happens. thank you for your attention.
