It is common for a user to call in, have a conversation with me, then ask to be transferred to check there voicemail. Our current systems allows this.

In the system I see code 51 is labeled as that. When I dial 51 it does in fact ask for mailbox and pin, just as I would like, however if I forward a caller to 51 it does the same action as forwarding to 50, my voicemail greeting plays like I sent them to my voicemail.

I also have 51 programmed as an option off my primary auto attendant, it works fine. The problem only kicks in when a call is answers, internal or external, then forwarded.

Suggestions, work around, fixes?

Thanks

I managed a work around. I have a DID setup to ring direct to 51. I can transfer users to that DID and it takes them to the VM with prompts for mailbox.

Sorry to keep updating this but I also learned that after added a DID that points to 51, you can setup an answer group with no ext that falls back to the DID number. Making it much easier for forwarding.
