We are in the process of replacing our existing email server with kerio and we are running some tests.

Below is our test setup.

Kerio Server: linsvr29
Domain: linsvr29.flavia.local
Alias for domain: flavia-it.de
Has a test account test.1<_at_>linsvr29.flavia.local
Has a account some.other.user<_at_>linsvr29.flavia.local
External emails (from e.g gmail accounts) cannot reach linsvr29.flavia.local

Existing email server: linsvr04
Domain: flavia-it.de
Has a test account test.1<_at_>flavia-it.de
Has a account some.other.user<_at_>flavia-it.de
External emails (from e.g gmail accounts) can reach flavia-it.de

The existing email server linsvr04 will forward emails destined to test.1@flavia-it.de to test.1<_at_>linsvr29.flavia.local (this is so that linsvr29.flavia.local can receive emails from the outside).

Kerio server linsvr29 uses the existing email server linsvr04 as a relay SMTP server (so that the kerio server can send emails to the outside, e.g. to gmail accounts).

Setup on smart phone:
Smart phone set up to use IMAP and SMTP server: linsvr29.flavia.local.

When sending from that smart phone to e.g. some.other.user@flavia-it.de, the kerio server will place the message into some.other.user<_at_>linsvr29.flavia.local (because of the alias).

Question:
Is it possible to setup the kerio server to only put test.1@flavia-it.de into test.1@linsvr29.flavia.local but emails destined to some.other.user<_at_>flavia-it.de must go to the existing email server?

Kind regards

Robert

Hello Robert,

Try this:

Set up flavia-it.de as a secondary domain on your Kerio Connect server, and set up test.1 as a user on that domain, with forwarding to test.1<_at_>linsvr29.flavia.local (That will use up a user license).

Then in your domain settings for flavia-it.de->Forwarding; tick the box for "If the recipient was not found in this domain, forward the message to another host", and enter the details for linsvr04.

I hope that helps.

Best regards,

Neil.
