Hello,

Bit on a confusing one here. One of our managers received an email from our CEO that was sent to him and a number of other recipients. The message he received though in Outlook shows it was sent by the CEO on behalf of him. E.g.

From: CEO [mailto:CEO<_at_>domain.co.uk] On Behalf Of Manager

I've checked and the email definitely came from the CEO IP, but the manager has never given delegation permissions to him.

The CEO is using Outlook 2011 for Mac on OSX 10.8 and we're running Kerio v8.2.4.

Does anyone have any idea how this could happen?

Thanks

Mark

Outlook 2011 allows you to send emails on behalf of the user who is sharing any folder or calendar to you. It does not respect delegation settings, it's a feature. Once you open shared folder in Outlook 2011, the client allows you to compose email with different From address.

To avoid this, use Sender Policy feature in Kerio Connect to control spoofing of From email addresses in emails sent by local users.

Hello,

We are using Outlook 2003 and had similar issue.
Anyone can modify the "From" field. To avoid this, we used the Sender Policy feature in Kerio Connect.

This is working accept that no errors are sent to users that are using this feature and who haven't any delegates !
